SAVANNAH, GA – December 10, 2018 The Savannah Philharmonic will celebrate their Tenth Anniversary Season with an elegant gala: An Enchanted Evening on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 6:30pm, at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center, 1 International Drive.
To properly celebrate this special, commemorative season, the Savannah Philharmonic is preparing to stage an extraordinary, music-filled gala such as only “Savannah’s Philharmonic” can present. Orchestra and Chorus members will perform a two-act program featuring classical, choral and gypsy jazz. The stunning, American Traditions Vocal Competition’s (ATC) Executive Director, Mikki Sodergren, will be performing as a guest soloist in a continuation of the ongoing collaboration between SPO and ATC. Demonstrating the expertise and range of this talented soprano, Mikki Sodergren will sing Habanera from Carmen, Skyfall by Adele and Happy Birthday to the Philharmonic.
The Gala will be set in an “enchanted forest” overlooking our city’s skyline from within the transformed Trade and Convention Center. WTOC’s Cyreia Sandlin will be emcee for the evening and the Gala Co-Chairs, Kelley Parker and Rhegan White-Clemm, are committed to ensuring that attendees will be truly enchanted by this once in a decade celebration. Guests will enjoy a champagne reception, followed by a splendid three course plated dinner paired with a selection of fine wines.
The proceeds of this gala will go towards supporting the Savannah Philharmonic’s mission of informing, instructing and enriching the community through orchestral and choral performances, and to promote and increase community knowledge and appreciation of the arts.
“This gala will be a jewel in the crown of our stellar Tenth Anniversary Season and an enchanted evening not be missed.” said Rhegan White-Clemm. “We are excited to be able to create the perfect fusion of music, cuisine and wine at this celebratory event as we raise funds to build on Savannah’s Philharmonic community outreach and educational programs.”
