SAVANNAH, GA – January 29, 2020 – The Savannah Philharmonic is pleased to welcome a new Orchestra Personnel Manager, Michael Daly. Daly has also played principal French horn with the Savannah Philharmonic since its inception in 2008. He holds multiple degrees from both Indiana University and Wichita State University. Daly’s past engagements include a four-year tour with the Broadway musical Les Miserables.
Daly joins the Savannah Philharmonic administrative team with a wide array of performance experience, as he frequently performs with the Charleston Symphony, South Carolina Philharmonic, Greenville Symphony Orchestra and the Hilton Head Symphony. He has toured with the Hollywood Concert Orchestra throughout Taiwan and China, and spends his summers as second horn of the Des Moines Metro Opera.
In his new post, Daly will work closely with orchestra personnel, contributing to the creation of outstanding symphonic music presentations and patron experiences. Daly will schedule musicians, coordinate auditions and handle personnel-related matters within the orchestra. He will also serve as a liaison between musicians and the music director, guest artists, and administrative staff. He’ll produce the orchestra handbook, season calendar and weekly orchestra schedule.
“I am honored and eager to join the Savannah Philharmonic family as the organization’s new orchestra personnel manager. Throughout my years of performing with the philharmonic, I have always been in awe of the accolades the organization has amassed. I am thrilled to be a part of the continued growth and success that is to come to this wonderful music organization,” Daly said.
Savannah Philharmonic’s mission is to inform, instruct and enrich the community through orchestral and choral performances, and to promote and increase community knowledge and appreciation of the arts. The nonprofit organization’s vision is to be regarded as an essential musical, educational, cultural, and economic asset to the community.
