The Savannah Philharmonic is thrilled to present their Classical Mystery Tour: A Tribute
to the Beatles concert this Saturday at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. The much-
anticipated event is completely sold out and will bring together music enthusiasts from
across the region for an unforgettable night of timeless classics.
The four musicians in Classical Mystery Tour look and sound just like The Beatles, but
Classical Mystery Tour is more than just a rock concert as the show presents more than
two dozen Beatles tunes performed exactly as they were originally recorded, together
with the SavPhil orchestra.
“We really make an effort to sound exactly like the originals,” explains Jim Owen, the
founder of Classical Mystery Tour who has portrayed John Lennon in the show. “The
orchestra score is exact, right down to every note and instrument that was on the
original recording. The Beatles released ‘Abbey Road’ a year after the ‘White Album’
and two years after ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,’ all of which were
revolutionary. We’ll be performing ‘Abbey Road’ songs and others that sound
spectacular with a live orchestra.”
Led by Music and Artistic Director Keitaro Harada, concertgoers will enjoy a symphonic
fusion of The Beatles’ timeless melodies, blended seamlessly with the rich sounds of
the Savannah Philharmonic. “This will be such a special evening to share with our
incredible SavPhil audience, and we are so excited to be presenting Classical Mystery
Tour during our milestone 15 th Anniversary Season,” shares Harada.
The organization expresses its gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers, and all those who
have contributed to the success of the 23-24 season and looks forward to continuing to
contribute to the vibrant cultural landscape of Savannah through memorable musical
performances.
