American soprano Elizabeth Baldwin has been praised as being “ferociously talented” by the
San Francisco Examiner and “mesmerizingly vulnerable” by the New York Times.
Lisa Chavez, Mezzo Soprano, has been described by her “plush storm of a voice” and “graceful stage presence”. This season she makes three role debuts. She started the fall with Cimarosa’s comedy Il matrimonio segreto singing Fidalma with Sarasota Opera.
At the age of 17 years old, he went to Ukraine and studied at S.S. Prokofiev Music Conservatory in Donetsk, 2009. He finished with both Bachelor and Master degrees in opera. Beside studying opera, he was one of the best hip-hop dancers in Ukraine who won 12 professional underground dance competitions.
Heralded for his “superbly refined voice” and “laudable performances” (Washington
Classical Review), Chilean born American baritone Javier Arrey has appeared in houses like
The Vienna State Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Palau de Les Arts,
Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Nacional de Chile, Washington National Opera and San Francisco
Opera, among others.
Located on Reynolds Square, the Lucas Theatre is a fully-restored historic theater which can seat nearly 1,200 attendees. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are available in the lobby. Parking is available in city-operated parking garages located within two blocks of the venue.
